To every activities we engage with under the sun
There must always be the God aspect as the core
Else it will all amount to an exercise in futility
When such engagements are viewed in the light of eternity
By the perfect and holy eyes of God
Before Whom all men shall give account
Dedicated to all Jesus Corpers of 1999-2000, Akwa Ibom State,
To the Nigerian Government, it is National Youth Service Corps (NYSC)
But to God it is Nigerian Youth Serving Christ (NYSC)
Right in this picture, we engaged the enemy under God over the souls of men
We called it “Rural Rugged!”
As soldiers of the Lord, the army of grace
We held a sword at our left hand for services to communities
And at our right hands the Sword of the Spirit seeking and saving the lost
To all the then Jesus Corpers and to everyone enrolled in the Army of God,
No matter where the flood of life takes us, let’s not be overwhelmed in the mundane
It may then be called “Rural Rugged” it should now be “Anywhere Rugged!”
Yes! Anywhere, wherever, in all the nations we now dwells
On the platforms of our careers and professions – It must be “Anywhere Rugged!”
Never judge the values of your life by the certificates, marriages, wives, husbands, children, houses; Cars, local and foreign accounts, foods, drinks and awards from institutions men made to create classes and boundaries between men and through which they classifies some as poor or rich.
Only God can define the truly rich and the truly poor and that He did in His rebuke for the Laodiceans Church….”Because you say, I am rich, and increased with goods, and have need of nothing; and know not that YOU ARE WRETCHED, and MISERABLE, and POOR, and BLIND, and NAKED” – Rev.3:17.
That which men highly esteems are forever an abomination before God! – Luke 16:15. Those we celebrates as rich and many Pastors harass the pew with using them as examples for their prosperity message before God without Christ as the core of their lives are WRETCHED, MISERABLE, POOR, BLIND and NAKED! That is God’s verdict! No matter how beautiful look it is to man.
All life accomplishments without JESUS as the core of the pursuits ends when death comes and our souls quit the rental apartments known as our earthly tabernacles (bodies)
Life fulfilment is in MAKING CHRIST THE CENTER CORE of all our life pursuits. Christ rebuked the Churches and especially those in Ephesus and Laodiceans. To the former, He commanded them to return to their FIRST LOVE – Rev.2:1-7 And the latter, He warned them of the DECEITFULNESS OF UNCERTAIN RICHES – Rev. 3:14-22. Emphasis on Rev. 2:4-5 and Rev.3:17-19.
Are we therefore still “Anywhere Rugged!?”
Are we still holding on? Are we still keeping on?
Let’s trust God for nourishment and stirring up the fire within us
Returning to OUR FIRST LOVE in Christ
And commitment to the ONLY CAUSE commanded by Him
Having ETERNITY IN VIEW as we engage daily!
